Like last year, and the year before that, we proudly sponsored the annual Center for Asian American Media Festival (CAAMFest). This year, nearly 27,000 Asians, Asian-Americans and others traveled from around the globe to attend the 11-day celebrations. CAAMFest 2016 opened with the premiere of Pamela Tom’s TYRUS at the majestic Castro Theater on March 10th. Afterwards, the Opening Night Gala saw 900 guests, filmmakers and city officials hobnobbing at the legendary Asian Art Museum, itself celebrating 50 years of spotlighting Asia’s diverse cultures.
The Opening Night Gala was a feast for the senses, filled with electrifying music, savory Bay Area culinary delights and delectable Rémy Martin cocktails. An expert Rémy Martin mixologist was on site crafting cocktail specials for all in attendance while Rémy Martin models and ambassadors evangelized the brand. We welcomed long-time Rémy enthusiasts and made new fans, as seen on Instagram, which lit up that night with CAAMFest and Rémy selfies.
Overall, it was a superb night for cognac connoisseurs, art aficionados and film fanatics.
C AAMFest 2016 welcomed record attendance and over 130 filmmakers and special guests, while showcasing over 120 films from 20 different countries. One of the most anticipated events was the Film Makers Awards Ceremony, held on March 13th, at Gray Area’s Grand Theater.
A proud sponsor of the event, we ensured that the crowd of over 70 filmmakers, culinary industry people and film aficionados in attendance enjoyed Rémy Martin cocktails (both Rémy V and VSOP were very popular). Our brand presence was also quite strong throughout the theater.
The guest speaker for the event was Leonardo Nam. A noted actor, Leo appeared in “He’s Just Not That Into You”, “Vantage Point”, “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” series and “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”. The excitement was palpable as the audience celebrated and cheered the 2016 CAAMFest award winners and honorees. And now we can look forward to the films we’ll be celebrating at CAAMFest 2017.
